Amethyst geodes, which have been used as jewelry for centuries, are available at Rare Crystal World. These geodes are different than the usual crystal geode that most people think of.

Instead of being shaped like a ball, these geodes are shaped into a long tube with a hole in the middle. Geodes are usually formed by quartz crystals. When water enters the hole, it is drawn through the rest of the tube and collects inside. This process can be repeated again and again until water gets into the inner layers of the tube and forms a thick, blackish deposit. If the tube has been properly cleaned, the deposit will remain intact and appear to be black.
